The Rugby Championship kicks off, and the normal mix of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll! Not really.

Last weekend saw Leinster come out the right side of a warm up match with Ulster at Navan RFC. Good to see the game going out to the people, and good to get the win, even though the results in these fixtures need to be taken with a pinch of salt, it was pretty young Ulster side in fairness. Creditable performances from fly halves Ross Byrne  and former Irish u20's Joey Carbery, and run outs for Niall Morris and Ian Nagle. Leinster's next fixture is against Gloucester at Tallaght Stadium on Saturday

It's not great news really that Kurt McQuilkin will be leaving Leinster, whatever has been going wrong in attack, our defense was always a feature of our play. Let's hop a good replacement is found.

In injury news, both Robbie Henshaw and Frances Saili will be out for about 3 months. So many injuries!

Rugby Championship
20 Aug 2016
Australia vs New Zealand 10:05
South Africa vs Argentina 15:05

Finally, a bit of quality rugby on the way as the Rugby Championship kicks off. It's really the New Zealand cup, which they generously donate every few years, and this year is unlikely to be any different. Australia look pretty old scholl with Mitchell, Shley Cooper and Gitesu on board, but I can't wee them winning.

Then the Boks have Argentina at home, so it'll be interesting to see what they learned from their near series defeat to Ireland. Some how at the moment, the whole is less than the sum of the parts. But I'd say they'll get the win.
