Leinsters PRO12 season does not smell of roses!

 Ben Te'O ( http://bit.ly/1FN8peh)

Leinsters Pro 12 campaign stalled at Rodney Parade as the guests came from behind to steal a victory, and do the double over Leinster. Ben Te’O was hero turned villain, with two superbly taken tries, and then a yellow card. But, in fairness, you aren’t going to turn a rugby league star into a union star in 6 months, in league, that was a perfectly good tackle. In the olden days(even two years ago) Leinster would have gone there and put 6-7 tries on the Dragons, and the yellow card would have been inconvenient, not fatal. We don’t have the variety to our game anymore – spread out wide and go from side to side is our new favourite, until the players can hardly stand – Dom Ryan was a point in case. Well at least we have our minds clear to concentrate on the Champions Cup! And fair play to the Dragons for their defence, and  for taking their chances when they came.

Connacht v Ulster was epic – a gut busting slug fest, with some beautiful deft touches supplied by Gilroy and Healy. That was total derby rugby, with Connacht with all the passion to match the quality of the Ulster team. If Ulster can keep this up, it just might be their season.

Finally, Munster stomped all over a poor Edinburgh to gain a maximum points victory, and keep pressing  for the top.
